Safe Driving Tips
by Admin November 20, 2015Living in Phoenix, we have to rely on some sort of transportation to get us to and from where we need to be. Most places are too far to ride a bike or walk. For many of us, we rely on our personal vehicle. It goes without saying that driving a car is a great responsibility. People’s lives are literally at stake behind the wheel. With distractions ranging from cell phones, to billboards, other drivers, and passengers- it is a tough job to be a safe driver. That being said, we want to point out some safe driving tips that you should keep in mind every time you get into your car.
Don’t TEXT and Drive (Or, really, do anything that involves your cell phone)
Know the rules of the road
Obey traffic signs
Never get behind the wheel if you have been drinking alcohol
Avoid any distractions such as applying makeup, eating, or intolerant passengers
Never get behind the wheel if you are tired
Be extra cautious in bad weather
Always be aware of the other drivers surrounding you
Keep up with ALL of your vehicle’s maintenance
Practice defensive driving
ALWAYS wear your seatbelt
In today’s world, we have so many extra distractions that were never an issue before. You can eliminate those distractions by:
Turning your phone on silent, and placing it out of sight
Giving yourself more time to get ready before you leave your house
Going in to a restaurant, rather than eating in your car
Asking your passengers politely to be respectful of your concentration to driving
Be sure you have a designated driver if you plan on drinking alcohol, or call a taxi service
If you follow these simple driving tips, you are doing a great service not only to yourself, but those around you, as well. It’s important to remember that there is always a safe way to approach any situation. Every life is valuable, and bad driving choices have taken too many of them. If you see someone driving unsafely, be sure to get away from them and even call the police if you feel it is necessary. We can all make our roads a little safer, but we have to work together to do it. Take some time to educate yourself, and you are headed in the right direction already. And don’t forget, bring your car or truck to Tech Plus Automotive for all of your vehicle maintenance needs!
